Dustin's mom, Irene is retiring after 21 years of being a Music Cataloger in the music libray at BYU. Even though she still has 3 more weeks before she officially retires, yeserday was her retirement party. Her good friend, Janet put on a great program for her. The 2 of them were able to go on several MLA trips together over the years and sang a little song about each one when they returned. They sang each of these along with a slide show of the many places they were able to visit. 
Dustin and his brothers were able to participate in the program and sing a song from the Musical Sweeny Todd. Sounds a little weird but it went along great with the program.

One of the students in the music library made this cake for Irene. It was the first cake he had ever made. It took him over 3 hours just to decorate it. I can see why. Janet tried sending some home with people and I joked and said, It has a "Y" on it, it can't come in to my house. jk. And she knew I was joking. The pics hanging on the wall in the background were a surprise to Irene. Dustin provided them to Janet to put in the slide show. You can't see them too close but they were really cute.
It was a really great party and I'm glad we could all be there to celebrate with Irene! We're happy for her and hope she and Ron will enjoy the time they will have together and they will be able to do everything they are hoping and wanting to do.
