New York City

(I was going to wait til I put pics up, but I still haven't... Oh well.)
2 of my sisters and I took my mom to NYC for her birthday. Neither my mom or I had ever been. We relied on Cyndi & Tricia to take us around to all the great sites. We took the red eye flight Thursday night. Meaning we were pretty tired the first day. Because we couldn't check into our hotel right away, we dropped our luggage off and had a pretty busy first day. Our first stop was bargaining on Canal Street. Next, we went by ground zero. You still cant see anything. They have it all blocked off as they are doing the construction on the memorial. Then, we walked down Wall Street, which was crazy busy. We went in to the Tiffany's there, my absolute all-time favorite store! LOVE IT! Because we wanted to be cheap and not spend the $ to go to the Statue of Liberty, we took the free ferry over to Staton Island. . The ferry takes you pretty close to it. As soon as we could, we went back and took a much needed nap. We woke up 15 minutes before the cut off time to get our names in to the lottery for Wicked. Luckily, our hotel was just a few blocks up the street. After running to get down there in time, 3 out of 4 of us got our names in at the last minute. Luckily, they pulled my name out! WAHOO!!! Cyndi & Tricia have both seen it, so my mom and I were able to go. It was INCREDIBLE! We were on the front row, which isn't ideal, but its better than the back. We could see the actors spitting on each other. Seriously, AWESOME! My sisters saw In the Heights, which they said was really good too.

After a full Friday on hardley any sleep, we got a late start to the day on our second day there. We still managed a full day though. Of course, we did some more shopping, H&M is a must. Walked through several of the 8 floors of Macy's. I could get lost there, easily! Especially in the shoes. :) We went up on top of the Empire State Building. You can see for miles. We did this awful 'ride' thing there. We were told you walk right up and don't have to wait in any lines. Yeah, thats a load a crap! On a normal day, where the lines are a few hours long, I'm sure it would be worth it but I'm not convinced it was any shorter than if we would have waited in the line. We all could have done without the awful 'ride'. Tricia was lucky that she didn't have to do it. We walked through Central Park.

Our final day, we walked through Central Park again. We stopped by the LDS temple and the chappel. We were thinking about going to church but didn't get there until the middle of the meeting. We just walked in and we were surprised it looked like a normal chapel. You felt like you were home again.

We ate at Carnegie Deli. We got pizza at Ray's. We had Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity. The only thing we didn't do was eat a hot dog on the street.
