I didnt know where we were going on our honeymoon until the night before we got married at the groom's dinner. All I knew that I needed my passport and we were going somewhere tropical. I was convinced it was somewhere off the coast of Florida somewhere. Especially when I saw his credit card statement and it said something about Delta and Florida. He totally surprised me!! We got married on Wednesday and left for COSTA RICA on our honeymoon early Friday morning!! It was a dream honeymoon! Better than anything that I ever could have imagined!!
We had soo much fun and there was so much to do! They cater to the tourists down there like crazy! You will see at least 100 "turimo" buses or vans in any given day.
We stayed at an all inclusive resort called Barcelo. It is right on the beach and we had a beautiful view from our balcony! The food and fresh fruit down there is amazing! They have the best Mangos I've ever had. I never really liked them before but they are Oh, so good! (We actually found some that were pretty good here at costco on Saturday.)
There were Iguana's running all around the resort. There were little lizards everywhere.
We went for a drive one day and we could just turn down a dirt road and it would lead in to this little town right on the beach! We had to stop and shop a little!!
We went to the rain forrest, the hot springs, we saw a live, active volcano, lava and all. We went snorkeling and a sunset sail that was to die for! It was gorgeous! We were on an actual sail boat that our captain actually sailed over from France, I think!
We played in the ocean, collected some cool shells and played with the hermit crabs! We also went on an estuary tour where we saw crocodiles, howler monkeys and really pretty birds!!
We saw some sloths and Coati's on the way to and from the rain forest.
We were on our way to the airport and I wanted to go in to Liberia and do some last minute shopping, we hadnt really gotten anything for us yet and we had to gas up there anyway. We turned down this random street and drove past one of our churches! We had to stop and take a pic by it. There were 2 members walking out and they told us someone was inside. We poked our heads in and found 2 missionaries. It was a lot of fun. Of course, they were both from Utah! It was so neat to see a church over there. Its great how you can feel the spirit so strong no matter where you are. I love how the church is the same no matter where in the world you are. We got the inside of the church on our video camera but they have the baptismal font under the stage in the chapel. We were going to try to find a church on Sunday but we would have had to drive at least on hour to get to the nearest town and then another while just looking for the church. And neither Dustin or I speak spanish, so we wouldnt have understood hardley anything.
I would soo recommend anyone going to Costa Rica o anyone!! It was a blast and we both wish we were still there!!! I have more pics but these were my favorites.
